Are you, or someone you know, in a Toxic Relationship?
Toxic Love Signs
WHAT IS A TOXIC RELATIONSHIP?
Relationships characterised by physical or verbal abuse undoubtedly fall under the category of toxic. Nevertheless, there are additional, less evident indicators of toxicity in a relationship.
The Power and Control Wheel in Young People and the NEW Technology Wheel explains the layers of intimate abuse and the tactics a partner may use to keep the other partner in the relationship. There are more subtle actions that take place over time such as intimidation and peer pressure, whilst there are more recognisable actions including sexual and physical violence. Technology is also used in intimate abuse, such as monitoring devices to track a partner’s movements. Explore the wheels to learn more about abusive behaviours in young people.
